M.A.S.K.

The Mobile Armored Strike Kommand operates in public as a racing and industrial front while its agents don helmets that grant specialized powers and vehicles that split from civilian disguises into combat machines. Their rival, VENOM, fields equally theatrical hardware in pursuit of wealth and domination.

How they stand to one another

Matt Trakker

MASK leader

A tall, athletic man in his late thirties with a square jaw, warm tan complexion, and neatly side-parted dark brown hair with a slight wave. His eyes are clear blue-gray, often narrowed in concentration. Broad shoulders, long runner’s legs, and the upright posture of someone used to being watched. Off-mission he wears a sharp racing jacket over a pale shirt; as Spectrum he dons a white-and-blue helmet with a wide gold visor that hides the upper face. Hands are large, unadorned except for a simple watch; no facial hair.

Measured, paternal, unwilling to sacrifice civilians for a clean win. Commands the agents; personal rivalry with Miles Mayhem that predates MASK; protective toward Gloria and Bruce.

Miles Mayhem

VENOM commander

A hawkish man in his forties with a lean, predatory face, high cheekbones, and a thin mouth that defaults to a sneer. Slicked-back black hair with a widow’s peak, pale skin, and dark, glittering eyes. He is thinner than Trakker, all angles, often in a high-collared black-and-crimson field coat. His VENOM helmet is aggressive and insectile, with a red visor. A scar nicks the left eyebrow. Gloves are always on.

Theatrical, vain, strategically gifted and personally petty. Former ally of Trakker; treats VENOM as expendable instruments; obsessed with humiliating MASK in public.

Gloria Baker

MASK agent · Shark

A compact, athletic woman in her early thirties with sun-gold skin, a spray of freckles across the nose, and shoulder-length auburn hair usually swept back for driving. Green-hazel eyes, a small determined mouth, and a strong jaw. She favors practical racing leathers in teal and white. As Shark her helmet is streamlined, aquatic, with a dark visor. Hands show racing calluses; she stands with weight on the balls of her feet, always ready to move.

Competitive, loyal, the team’s steadiest nerve in a chase. Trusted field partner to Matt; sparring camaraderie with Bruce; VENOM underestimates her at cost.

Bruce Sato

MASK agent · Panda

A Japanese-American man in his mid-thirties, medium height, quietly powerful through the shoulders and forearms. Straight black hair cut short, a calm oval face, and dark brown eyes that miss little. Light olive complexion, a faint crease between the brows from thinking. Civilian clothes are simple: dark sweater, work trousers. Panda helmet is rounded, black-and-white, with a protective visor. He often holds a small mechanical part as if it were a puzzle.

Inventive, soft-spoken, morally exacting about collateral damage. Matt’s technical conscience; gentle with Gloria; refuses Mayhem’s view of machines as mere weapons.

Alex Sector

MASK agent · Jackrabbit

A lanky Englishman in his late thirties with sandy blond hair, a receding but dignified hairline, and a long, amused face. Pale complexion, blue eyes behind round scholarly glasses when unmasked. Narrow shoulders, quick hands. He dresses like a museum curator who might have to run: tweed or a rumpled linen jacket. Jackrabbit helmet is elongated and slightly comic, with antenna-like sensors. A leather satchel is almost always on him.

Dry-witted scholar who becomes startlingly physical once the helmet is on. Provides MASK with history and riddles; fond exasperation toward the racers; Mayhem wants his knowledge more than his life.

Visual language

1980s Sunbow adventure animation: hard cel outlines, saturated primaries, chrome vehicles, and Saturday-morning sky gradients. Faces are slightly simplified but heroic; night scenes use deep navy and hot orange explosions.

Bright keyed daylight on vehicles; rim-lit helmet visors; muzzle flashes as hard orange shapes. Clean cel paint, faint film-scan grain, occasional lens flare on chrome, no photoreal skin pores.
